Interface The heart of the SIM-MODULES is the so called Main Module, an interface card which is directly connected to the PC. The single Avionic Modules (see "MODULES") are then connected to this Main Module.
-> 64 switches, pushbuttons or LEDs -> 8 rotary encoders -> 8 analogue axes* -> 1 LC-Display with up to 4x40 characters* *either the analogue axes or the LCD can be connected Additionally, it is possible to connect up to 16 more of these versatile interface cards - that gives a total number of 1088 digital I/Os, 136 rotary encoders, 136 analogue axes or 17 LC-Displays - which should be enough even for larger home cockpit projects.
The best thing is - the usage of these interface cards is NOT limited to Flight Simulation! Thanks to the SIM-MODULES Control Panel it is possible to use the system for a variaty of other purposes, like -> mp3 or DVD control, e.g. a stylish player panel next to the living room's couch - instead of an unesthetic PC keyboard -> music software, like Guitar Rig(R) or any mixer software that otherwise would be controlled via mouse/keyboard -> often needed work steps at home or in office, like applying multiple filters in Photo Shop(R) using one single hardware button -> and many, many more... the limit is your imagination!
Long story short - everything, you could do on your PC using keyboard and mouse - can now be done with REAL hardware. It's so easy!
