General Information Overview Our system called the "SIM-MODULES" is a modular, fully plug-and-play-compatible system to simulate all kind of avionics for home flight simulation. It is based on latest micro-controller technology and is especially designed to allow a quick and easy assembly - there is no need to study electronical engeneering, to write thousend of program code lines or to spend hours of hard work to get everything running. Therefore this system is a perfect combination of the fun and the excitement a "Do-It-Yourself"-solution brings, and the simplicity and reliability of expensive and inadaptable "Plug-and-Play" hardware - even hobby pilots without any knowledge of electronics, programming or hardware design can create their own individual cockpit-setup!
Description Basically, the whole system consists of one main module, which is connected to the PC (via RS232 or USB) and the different avionic-modules. The main module is the link between the software running on the PC and the avionic-modules, which are connected to the Master using a bus-compatible data protocol - that means everything can be simply linked via a daisy-chain-connection. The software itself is easily adaptable - therefore, the whole system can be used with several flight simulator programs - for example the famous Microsoft® Flight Simulator™, XPlane or any other simulator.
Future plans The developement of this project is still work in progress - however, a public release of the whole system is planned some day in the near future. A definite day of release can't be stated here - but if you're interested into this system, please contact me via e-mail (info@sim-modules.at) - also feel free to give some feedback using the the guest book!
